Dear Readers: I was traveling when I posted this and due to the Winds of Fate or maybe a Lack of Skillz, it did not post all of it.

Have you ever come across a small object of just the right size to carry in a pocket or tuck in a bag? Maybe this object caught your eye or seemed to call out to you? Did it seem to ask you to take it with you on your journey forward? This is how you can identify a talisman.
Talismans have been used in many civilizations throughout history, with connections to astrological, scientific, and religious practices. They are primarily used for protection or to heal the mind or spirit.
But talismans can take a variety of forms and can be defined as an object which you have decided holds a deep meaning only to you.
Natural talismans can include a bird feather, a pretty pebble, or a spectacular leaf. It might be a bit of sand from a beach you love or a bit of bark from a fallen tree.
Talismans can also be pieces of jewelry. Something you’ve been given by a loved one or something you select for yourself that holds a special meaning. It might take the form of prayer beads you wear or religious medals which you carry.
A talisman can also be a quote or scripture you keep tucked into a wallet or purse. Or a book you use to reflect or meditate upon.
Finally, another type of talisman is a small doll or stuffed animal which can be carried in a pocket and concealed from the world. Author A.A. Milne describes the character Piglet as:
“…so small that he slips into a pocket, where it is very comfortable to feel him when you are not quite sure whether twice seven is twelve or twenty-two.” ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
As you undertake you Sacred Journey, be aware of any talismans you might encounter on the way.
